Endometriosis
What is it?
Endometriosis is when tissue similar to that of the womb starts to grow in other areas of the body
How can women's Health Physiotherapy help with endometriosis?
As a women's health physio, I can’t treat the endometriosis directly but I can treat the associated side effects.
Endometriosis can cause an increase in abdominal and pelvic floor tension. It has been known to effect bowel habits and as a consequence, we can work on postural advice, pelvic floor assessment and treatment, defaecation dynamics, abdominal massage and techniques to help with painful intercourse.

WHICH APPOINTMENT SHOULD I BOOK?
A Women's Health Physiotherapy appointment is 1hr in length and costs £80.
Prior to your appointment you will be sent a new patient questionnaire to give me some detailed information in advance. This makes sure we can make the most of the appointment time.
I will then conduct a thorough functional assessment to see how you move and if you consent we will conduct an internal examination to assess the pelvic floor. Once the assessment is completed, time allowing we will start treatment and make a treatment plan.

HOW WILL YOU FEEL AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT?
After your appointment you will have a better understanding of your body, what is causing your pain, where your pelvic floor is and how to contract it, what your posture is like and how it will impact your symptoms and what you can do to manage and treat your symptoms.
