PHYSIOTHERAPY in PREGnancy

Picture

When is it indicated?

As the baby grows and your body changes shape, there can be some associated aches and pains. This can include pelvic girdle pain (please see my blog post on this) and lower back pain as the posture changes and the pelvis readies itself for birth.
Pre-natal physiotherapy can also be a good opportunity to get some advice for the first 6 weeks post-natally.
  • What to expect if you tear
  • How to go to the toilet post episiotomy or tear
  • The best toileting positions
  • How to care for and support your c-section scar
  • What mastitis symptoms are
  • How to treat cracked nipples
  • Postural advice for breastfeeding
  • What to do and who to speak to if you have issues with Latching
  • How and when to start retraining your pelvic floor post-natally

What appointment do i need?

A pregnancy Physiotherapy session is the same as a standard physiotherapy appointment. It is £55 for an initial and £50 for a follow up. The initial is 1hr and the follow up 45mins.
