Therapeutic Ultrasound & Mastitis

Picture
Therapeutic ultrasound is a treatment modality which is very effective for the treatment of mastitis it can be used in conjunction with antibiotics but it can also remove the need for them altogether.
Mastitis can cause localised, painful inflammation of the breast, usually hard and tender and is associated with flu like symptoms.
It is important to have the breast examined for any irregularities before treatment but if it is diagnosed as mastitis, it can be effectively treated in 3 treatment sessions with ultrasound, taping and lymphatic drainage massage.

When having treatment for mastitis it is important to start a feed within 15 minutes of the end of the treatment so that the best results are achieved.
